Camping on the Frisian coast; ‘Close to town and on the Wadden coast’
If you keep left coming from the Afsluitdijk (N31) you drive towards Harlingen. Just before this cosy port, you will find Campsite De Zeehoeve. The campsite is situated on the age-old dike, that separates it from the sea at a distance of only 50 metres. You can bring your own camper can, caravan or tent for an enjoyable holiday full of sun, sea and beaches and the quaint town of Harlingen close at hand. One or more nights of camping is possible, of course, but this is really too short to be able to enjoy the many opportunities that the campsite and Harlingen have to offer!
The spacious sheltered pitches (at least 100m2 per pitch) on our campsite will house a tent, caravan or camper van as well as a side tent, including electricity (16 Amp).
Heated toilet building
There are three toilet buildings on the campsite, one of which is heated. These are maintained throughout the year and cleaned daily.
Marina and Trailer ramp
You can bring your own boat with you on holiday! The campsite is connected to open water (where Friesland’s famous Elfstedentocht “eleven towns ice-skating tour” is skated when weather permits). From the campsite you can sail to and through Harlingen or reach the surrounding villages. There are quite a few nice sailing routes to be plotted through Friesland. And if your boat is suited, you can also reach the Wadden Sea through the Bolswardervaart. If you want to use your boat for fishing, this is an excellent way to reach many good angling spots.
Children can play to their heart’s content at the campsite. There are 3 playgrounds with different types of material including slides, swings, a bouncy cushion and a jungle gym. During the high season the recreational team organises all kinds of fun activities at the campsite.
We have wireless internet facilities at the campsite, Wi-Fi. A log-in code is available from reception against payment. If you haven’t brought a laptop, you will find an internet station at the restaurant.
